On the occasion of the 171st session of the Global Forum on Customs Questions affecting Transport, held in Geneva from 10 to 13 February, Italian national Marco Ciampi, a senior official of the Italian Customs and Monopolies Agency, was elected President of the Global Forum for the year 2026.
The Global Forum, a subsidiary body of UNECE, serves as an important intergovernmental platform for technical and regulatory dialogue on customs matters affecting international transport, aimed at facilitating trade flows, enhancing the security and efficiency of procedures, and promoting coherence between customs and transport instruments.
