The Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations hosted an exhibition of original cars and photographs from both the historic 1000 Miglia race and its present-day re-enactment.
The event featured remarks by Jean Todt, Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General and former Director of Scuderia Ferrari, and Federica Deledda, member of the Executive Committee of the European Roads Policing Network, who raised awareness among participants on the crucial issue of road safety. The discussion highlighted the importance not only of technological development, but also of prevention, effective regulations and appropriate awareness-raising campaigns.
In his remarks, Ambassador Vignali recalled that the 1000 Miglia today is not merely a race, but represents “a cultural event that continues to fascinate motorsport enthusiasts around the world, celebrates the beauty of our territory and, at the same time, can help us reflect on the importance of road safety education.”
