UNAIDS

UNAIDS (Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS) is the United Nations Joint Programme, launched in January 1996, which unites 11 UN agencies UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP, UNDP, UNFPA, UNODC, ILO, UN WOMWN UNESCO, WHO, and World Bank.

The main objective of the organization is to reduce the spread of HIV, ensuring universal access to disease prevention and treatment. UNAIDS has an important partnership with civil society.

The Director General is Winnie Byanyima (since 2019)
