The Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Gian Lorenzo Cornado, met today with the UN Special Envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura.
The meeting provided with an opportunity to touch upon the current situation in Syria and the activities of the office of the Special Envoy, who also shared updates and views on the most recent developments of the Syrian crisis.
Ambassador Cornado renewed Italy’s support to the mandate of the Special Envoy and the hope that his efforts may soon led to a political solution to the crisis.
