The Permanent Representative of Italy to the UN and other International Organiations in Geneva, Ambassador Gian Lorenzo Cornado, met today with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Ambassador Peter Maurer.
During meeting, the two discussed existing collaborations between Italy and ICRC and ways to strenghten cooperation in several crisis contexts. Since 2015, Italy is back in the Donor Support Group, which comprises major donors to the Committee’s operations.
Ambassador Cornado highlighted how ICRC’s professionalism, neutrality, impartiality and independence make the Committee one of Italy’s main partners.
