The Permanent Representatie of Italy to the UN and other International Organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Gian Lorenzo Cornado, met today with the Director General of the World Health Orgnization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the intense cooperation between the Organization and Italy. DG Tedros expressed appreciation for the important contribution of Italy to global health and thanked for the support, also from the financial point of view, to WHO.
Ambassador Cornado touched upon the main points on the global health agenda: from nutrition to non-communicable diseases to migrants’ health. DG Tedros expressed his hope for a further strengthening of the partnership between Italy and WHO.
