Ambassador Gian Lorenzo Cornado, the new Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva, presented today his credentials to World Trade Organization (WTO) Director-General Roberto Azevedo.
Ambassador Cornado stressed that Italy keeps supporting the WTO multilateral trade system, as well as appreciates its role in the consolidation of an open, transparent and equitable trade system.
Italy attaches great importance to the multilateral trade system. Being one of the biggest manufacturing countries in the EU – Ambassador Cornado stressed – Italy needs a stable, predictable and enforceable rule-based framework.
