The Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Gian Lorenzo Cornado, took part today in the interactive dialogue with the Commission of Inquiry on Syria, within the framework of the 39th session of the Human Rights Council.
In his statement, Ambassador Cornado expressed Italy’s concern about the humanitarian and human rights situation in the country, urging all parties to the conflict to take all necessary measures to protect civilian population and civilian infrastructure and to ensure full, immediate and secure access to the United Nations and humanitarian actors to the whole the Syrian territory.
