The Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Gian Lorenzo Cornado, took part today in the annual Discussion on the integration of a gender perspective, within the framework of the 39th session of the Human Rights Council.
In his statement, Ambassador Cornado reiterated that gender equality and women empowerment are key, both nationally and internationally, to preventing all forms of violence. Ambassasor Cornado also stressed the importance ofintegrating a gender perspective in the work of the Commission of Inquiries, the Fact Finding Missions and the investigative bodies of the Human Rights Council.
