Exhibition “Fifteen Percent” on the rights of persons with disabilities and the need to work for building more inclusive societies

On the occasion of the International day of Persons with Disabilities, Italy co-sponsored the exhibition of the Italian artist Christian Tasso “Fifteen Percent”. The exhibition aims at raising awareness on the rights of persons with disabilities as well as on the need to work for building more inclusive societies benefiting from the participation of everybody.

The exhibition falls also on the year of the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 10th anniversary of the CRPDs entry into force, offering an occasion to further uphold the commitment in favor of the rights of persons with disabilities.

As announced in its pledge supporting its candidature to the Human rights Council, Italy, as a member since next January, will use its mandate to promote the rights of persons with disabilities, particularly in emergency and post-conflict situations, to promote the widest accession to the CRPD and the strengthen its efforts on advocacy and awareness raising to enhance the understandings of the rights of persons with disabilities.
