Libia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation supports OIM and UNHCR

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will support IOM and UNHCR in the execution of their joint plan for Libya, drawn up at the Italian request to help the stabilization of the country and combat human trafficking. Thanks to funding from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, IOM and UNHCR will thus be able to operate in all regions of the country with initiatives of assistance, stabilization and peaceful coexistence between local communities, migrants, refugees, and displaced persons. Training activities on human rights and international law will also be organized for Libyan officials in charge of migration management and detention facilities.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is thus reinforcing its commitment to the stabilization of Libya, a top priority of Italian foreign policy as a factor of fundamental importance for the security of our country.
