Crisis in Ethiopia – Italian Cooperation’s contribution

Italian Cooperation approved an emergency contribution amounting to Euro 500,000 in favour of the “Ethiopia Humanitarian Fund”. This is a multi-donor fund managed by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), dedicated to financing humanitarian projects set up by the United Nations Agencies and the Country’s Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).

Thanks to Italy’s contribution, the OCHA will be able to step up its assistance actions among the most vulnerable portions of the population, in the terms of food security, health, and protection, as well as the Country’s areas most at risk starting from the Tigray region in which the humanitarian situation has deteriorated sharply, due to the recent conflict.
