Italy’s participation in the 41st session of the Working Group of the Universal Periodic Review on Human Rights

The 41st session of the Universal Periodic Review Working Group, a mechanism of review among the Member States of the United Nations on the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms, began today within the Human Rights Council in Geneva. This session marks also the commencement of fourth cycle of the UPR, which will last until January-February 2027. During the session, which will end on November 18th, the human rights situation in the following countries will be examined: Bahrain, Ecuador, Tunisia, Morocco, Indonesia, Finland, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, India, Algeria, Philippines, Brazil, Poland, Netherlands and South Africa. Italy will intervene by formulating recommendations in the interactive dialogue dedicated to each State under review, confirming the Italian commitment to the promotion and protection of human rights and its support to the important role carried out by the United Nations in this area.
