Counsellor Laura Calligaro took the floor on March 29 at the Round Table dedicated to Sustainable Cities and Communities (Sustainable Development Goal 11) as part of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Regional Forum on Sustainable Development.
Italy described the national strategy for the achievement of SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), which is the promotion of sustainable urban development with a holistic approach to urban planning and urban regeneration initiatives, taking into account policies adopted within the UNECE region.
Investments directly related to SDG 11 amount to 20.7 billion euros and are key to the implementation of actions under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).
The Regional Sustainable Development Forum is one of UNECE’s main events and updates on the progress of actions undertaken at the European level to achieve the SDGs.
