A book of condolence for President Emeritus Giorgio Napolitano was open on 25-27 September 2023 at the Permanent Mission of Italy to the UN and International Organizations in Geneva. Flags were also kept on half-mast on the same days.
Numerous representatives from the International Organizations and the international community in Geneva paid their respect, in remembrance of a politician who, quoting President Mattarella, “elected to the highest offices of the State, President of the Chamber of Deputies, Senator for life, President of the Republic for two terms, has always performed with acute intelligence and in full loyalty to the Constitution, his role of guarantor of the values of our community, with heartfelt attention to the instances of renewal in our society”.
The Permanent Mission of Italy joins the expressions of condolence addressed to the family of President Emeritus Giorgio Napolitano.
