The 30th session of the third cycle of the Universal Periodic Review (2017-2022) started in Geneva on May 7th and lasted two weeks. The UPR is both a challenge and an opportunity for all 193 Member States to promote and protect human rights: during the process, the State under examination has the possibility to share progresses that have been made since the last review, as well as face new goals to be reached in the future. The UN, in this context, assists governments in the implementation of recommendations offered by the other countries during the interactive dialogue.
