Statement of Amb Cornado at General Debate on technical assistance and capacity-building (HRC 38)

The role of the technical assistance as a tool for the strengthening of the national policies for the promotion and protection of human rights, the role and the field presence of the OHCHR and the importance to support the universal participation in the work of the Human Rights Council, have been the focus of the intervention that Ambassador Cornado delivered today within the framework of the General Debate on technical assistance and capacity-building that took place today within the 38th session of the Human Rights Council.

Ambassador Cornado also stressed the importance that Italy attaches to technical assistance and the support provided by Italy to its implementation, including through the contribution to the UN Trust Voluntary Fund for the participation in the work of the Human Rights Council for SIDS and LDCs delegates.
