34th session of the Universal Periodic Review Working Group (UPR). Italy presents its Periodic Report

The 34th session of the Universal Periodic Review Working Group (UPR) has started on November 4, 2019 in Geneva. The UPR is a mechanism of the Human Rights Council in which each United Nations Member State provides an update on the implementation of its international obligations in the field of human rights and receives recommendations from other states for the strengthening and the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms.

During the 34th session the UPR will examine the situation of the human rights in the following 14 countries: Italy, El Salvador, Gambia, Bolivia, Fiji, San Marino, Kazakhstan, Angola, Iran, Madagascar, Iraq, Slovenia, Egypt and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
